"Ladies and Gentlemen...Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeere's GRACE"

One New Years Eve in the 90's....my friend Jose and I went to "LIFE" {Now la Poisson Rouge} to see Ms Grace Jones...she was late...it was packed...but DAMN it was worth it...in a black rubber pompador wig and a Issey Miyake plastic bustier...she ssquatted in front of a fan and yelled "DO ALL YOU FAGGOTS WANT TO SMELL MY PUSSY?!?!?!?"...the answer...YES...YES WE WOULD!!!!!!

Grace Jones is an icon who maybe doesnt get her due....piled under a mountain of Madonnas and GaGas...of wanna-bees and Never were's....theres Grace...shes loud and brash...she real and REAL LATE most of the time...but under it all a true and amazing performer...she's ALWAYS been a fave and Jose only helped me explore her talents even more.....Stylistically she in untouchable...a champion for the avant garde when avant garde was STILL avant garde!!!!! and musically very consistant producing some of my fave covers EVER...{Her version of "She's Lost Control'???? AMAZING!!!!!}....shes experimental and fun....what music should be......Her life is artwork....and I am always hungry for more....

So here are just some images of Grace i love...Including some from her show I saw in NYC in 2009 with Jose....a semi-religous experience for us and all the NYC Queens who got to experience it.....

3 years ago...{or so}...i wandered into the Montauk Club in Brooklyn LITERALLY with suitcases in had...ready to vend at my FIRST DoV...a French theme of sorts if I remeber correctly...and I searched for Shien Lee whom I had been corresponding with online...allthough it felt like we were writing letters...real letters like people USED to write....and when I frist saw her...and saw her smile...I knew I had met a lifelong friend!!!!!

Shien Lee...and Dances of Vice became a paltform for my obsessions...my company PUREVILE! grew and expanded here...and my love of dressing up flourished and was encouraged....by a wild band of like minded peacocks...who if anything made me want to shine brighter and brighter with each passing event.....

and we both grew...togther....and I just wanted to thank Shien for doing this...because I dont think people REALLY know what goes into plannign an event...its not always fun...and not always glmour!!!! its hard work...and this woman does it gladly and politley!!! {though sometimes the "Dragon Lady"comes out!!! as it should!!!}.....she is kind and generous and creative!!!!! She is single handedly helping revive NY nightlife...she is an amazing woman and a great friend!!!!

I wish we saw each other more but we both lead busy lives...but she is always in my heart...and we ALWAYS have Dances of Vice...

SO thank you Shien...for all the years of all the amazing parties!!!! From the Montauk to Bond Street...From Galapogos to Rebel......from the W Hotel to Le Poisson Rouge...all the centuries we traveled and all the cities we explored...all the wigs and makeup...all the gowns and gloves..all the shoes and glitter...the drinks and laughter...the bathroom photosessions and the sweat soaked minks....thank you Ms Shien Lee for taking us all on a wonderful journey...and thanks for doing it all with that sweet smile of yours!!!! Heres to many more years of success and many more places to explore!!!!

"Every Summer She Returned to Grey Gardens....."

Thats the "title" of my terrarium...YEAH your supposed to name terrariums...DUH

When Iw as young I used to make little terrariums in Tic-Tac boxes...capture ants and let them live in my carefully manicured worlds...I love things in minature...and a terrarium is just that...a litttle world in minature....

So recently i took a class at "the Parlour" in Greenpoint{http://www.theparlourbrooklyn.com/} taught by the lovely ladies at "Twig" terrariums {http://twigterrariums.com/}...they provided all the materials and we just had to show up and follow directions.....It was simple and alot of fun

Starting with some simple ingredients we built our little worlds from the ground up...with proper drainage and soil to keep them living for a long time!!!!

A small figure and 6 different kinds of moss completed the scene!!!!! The Ladies of "Tiwg" were so fun and informative...definately a class worth taking!!!! and Kudos the the Parlour [and my friend Jessica} for hosting such amazing nights!!!!!

and hopefully my Black Thumb won't kill my precious little world......

Breathing is for Sissies......

When i first put it on...I felt so secure...like i can do anything and go anywhere....I could feel how tall it made me walk...and how amazingly SEXY I felt...i mean ME...SEXY?!?!?!? SO I laced it tighter...and it grabbed me closer...and it made me feel so alive..and I let out one single gasp.....and it was done......

I just LOVE the feel of a nice tight corset.....Like the best hug ever....I wish I could wear them everyday...and really i guess i could...I just think theres nothing sexier...ESPECIALLY on a MAN!!!!!! i dont know if it's the obvious juxtaposition....or just the way it cinches the waist and accentuates so many other parts so nicely....So for your perusal...some sexy men laced up nice and tight.....
