Meloncholia

Maybe its the heat...or some kind of "post pardum" thing since BANZAI is over and i don't have any projects now...but I'm just feeling kinda...lost or something....unteathered....i don't know.....Just disconnected from people...friends.....family......Just a little off centered...

So heroes some songs...to help me {and maybe you } wallow...because sometimes a wallow is good for the soul

DARK BAR @ BEDLAM!

{gasp}

Bedlam is BEAUTIFUL...it was like walking into my apartment....a dark abattoir filled with medical oddities and taxidermy...It was heaven....and I was THRILLED to have been able to guest DJ at Dark Bar!!!!

and even though the night got filled with weekend warriors.....I took care of that with some darker tunes and the night once again became OURS!!!!!

SO thanks to Hillary {and Sean in absentia} for having me...enjoy my setlist and some photos from the night!!!

XOXO

When we entered the exhibit Gooby texted the artist himself "You have a bunch of girls here squalling over your work"..Well either he FORGOT I was too or he was including me in the term "girls" because i was INDEED squealing!!!!

I have been a fan of Adams work FOREVER and was so THRILLED to see it in person finally...the Anamorphic quality of his work....the Creepy/cute combo thats ALWAYS a favorite of mine....and the fact that its FUNCTIONAL!?!??!? He is truly an amazing artist...Reminding me of Tim Burtons finer moments....I was entranced by each and every piece...the details of the work from the subtle glitter in the paint to the thoughtful choice of paint color in the room to enhance the color of the pieces...it was just breathtaking...and there was JUST the right about of pieces...not too many to over whelm but just enough to see the scope and range of his work!!! It's NOT just all tentacles people...{though those ARE stunning!!!}

Candice and Maki in the shadows

Love the drips created by the shiny coating on all the chandeliers...made them feel more oceanic...

Adam did some chandeliers for the Hello Kitty 50th anniversary in Art Basel this year...heres the Kuromi one...My Melodies GOTH sister!!!

Candice refelceted

THIS is my new favorite piece!!! It just perfectly combines for me the creepy cute aesthetic i just LIVE for....the craftsmanship is undeniable!!! And i have a perfect place for it in my apartment!!!

Candice just looked so AMAZING in all the rooms...

the shadow play was particularly menacing and gorgeous

All and all a brilliant show!!! I encourage you to go!!!! its in Philadelphia and you can stop by the Mütter too while your there like we did!!! And maybe we can all start a pool and buy one of these and do a time share thing!!! Who's in!?!?!?!?
